Two SVR Options: Fixed or Mobile Use
Handheld Option
The Pro II SVR is a fast, accurate handheld surface velocity radar with automatic tilt compensation that can be used to take waterflow readings on-the-go. Housed in a rugged cast-metal exterior, it features proprietary automatic or manual vertical tilt compensation, allowing you to easily measure flow from a variety of heights and angles.
Fixed Mount Option
The Stalker Surface Velocity Sensor SVR is the ideal solution for OEM projects that continuously monitor waterflow at a single location such as dam sites, water treatment plants, and flood control systems. It only requires 9v to 24v DC to
operate, can be mounted to a variety of flat surfaces, and features automatic tilt compensation.
- Operating temperature: -22°F to +158°F
- IP67 rated for dust and water resistance
- Die-cast aluminum housing
Pro II SVR
The Pro II SVR features a rugged cast-metal exterior and the world’s most sensitive transmitter/receiver as well as miniaturized and modernized electronics. Its direction sensing software and updated algorithms define the radar ideal for the task of accurate and reliable water flow measurement. Moreover, the Pro II’s Ka- Band performance measuring water flow is superior to the K Band used by some of its competitors’ radars.
Key features
- Speed detection range: 0.4 mph to 40 mph
- Speed accuracy: 0.22 mph
- Measures in feet/second, miles per hour, meters/second, centimeters/second, and kilometers per hour

Automatic Vertical Tilt Compensation
To make it better suited for the different elevated perspectives in comparing water flow at different times or locations, Stalker Radar engineers developed automatic vertical tilt compensation. Simply put, Stalker’s SVR automatically adjusts its speed reading based on the angle the radar points at the target flow. With a vertical angle accuracy of ±2° and vertical angle resolution of 1°, if an operator takes one reading pointing down at 45°, then takes another at 50°, both flow readings will be adjusted and directly comparable.
Wide Speed Range & Settings
The Stalker Pro II SVR measures in meters/second, feet/second, centimeters/ second, miles per hour, and kilometers per hour. And it has a speed range of 0.2 m/s to 18.0 m/s – from below 1 mph to over 40 mph – with an accuracy of ±0.1 m/s.
Everything You Need For Surface Velocity Measurement
Tilt compensation, settings’ range, and Digital Signal Processing, combined with direction sensitivity, horizontal angle adjustment, and 4 levels of sensitivity all make the Stalker Pro II SVR the new standard in water flow measurement.
Stalker Surface Velocity Sensor (SVR)
The Stalker Surface Velocity Sensor is the perfect solution for locations that need constant flow monitoring. Backed by nearly two decades experience in microwave radar and 22 radar-related patents, the Speed Sensor SVR is self-contained in a waterproof enclosure and only needs 9v to 24v DC to operate.
Key features
- Measures in feet/second, miles per hour, meters/second, and kilometers per hour
- Closing, away, or auto-directional sensitivity modes
- Accommodates angles between 0-70°

Enhanced Sensitivity and Directional Accuracy
The Speed Sensor SVR is designed with four sensitivity levels, enabling it to detect waterflow with exceptional accuracy even in challenging environments. It automatically detects and reports the flow direction, whether the water is moving toward, away from, or in both directions relative to the sensor. This directional capability is essential for applications where understanding water movement patterns is critical, such as in flood risk assessment or waterway navigation management.
Seamless Integration and Communication Flexibility
The SVR is equipped with your choice of either RS-232 or RS-485 communication ports. This flexibility allows the sensor to integrate easily with existing water management systems, providing real-time data for operational decision-making. With baud rates adjustable from 1.2K to 38.4K, the SVR is adaptable to a variety of communication needs, ensuring compatibility across different platforms.

Efficient Power Usage for Continuous Operation
The Surface Velocity Sensor is engineered for efficient power consumption, ensuring long-lasting performance with minimal energy usage. The fixed sensor operates on a voltage range of 9v to 24v DC, while the handheld radar gun is powered by a rechargeable battery contained its handle.
Automatic Vertical Tilt Compensation
Recognizing the need for accurate comparisons of water flow across varied elevations and time periods, the team at Stalker Radar innovated a solution: automatic vertical tilt compensation. This feature allows the Stalker SVR to dynamically adjust its speed measurements based on the vertical angle at which it’s aimed at the water flow. With a precise vertical angle accuracy of ±2° and a resolution of 1°, this technology ensures that flow readings remain consistent and comparable, regardless of the operator’s position. For instance, whether a measurement is taken at a 45° downward angle or a 50° angle, the SVR automatically calibrates the readings, enabling direct and reliable comparisons.
